The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up star told US talk show host Conan O'Brien how he popped the question to Lauren Miller.

He went on to say that the nerves were getting the better of him before he proposed, stating: "All I could think of was this ring. Like 'Don't say Lord of the Rings!' Don't mention anything about a ring!"

Rogen – who was on the Conan show to promote his upcoming film the Green Hornet, admitted that he chose an unusual moment to go down on one knee, as his girlfriend was mid-way through changing in the couple's closet.

Recently, tennis star Maria Sharapova received a diamond engagement ring from her LA Lakers player fiance, Sasha Vujacic – the item is estimated to be worth $250,000 (£156,000).
