On holiday is the perfect place to be given an engagement ring, according to more than half of women.
Women would prefer it if their partners presented them with an engagement ring on holiday, research has revealed.
According to a survey by HolidayExtras.com, more than half of women said they would rather their partner popped the question overseas, with one-third of men agreeing with them.
Out of the 479 people who answered the survey, 14 per cent said they had already popped the question on a special holiday abroad.
Only 21 per cent of respondents admitted they would prefer a proposal in the UK and 16 per cent stated that they weren't interested in tying the knot at all, claiming to be "not the marrying kind".
Recently, Prince William said he proposed to long-term girlfriend Kate Middleton on holiday in Kenya after seeking the permission of her father.
The royal gave his fiancee his mother's engagement ring, which is made up of diamonds and sapphires and was first purchased for £28,000 when Prince Charles got engaged to Lady Diana in 1981.
