Maria Sharapova has been spotted showing off her diamond engagement ring during a walk in Los Angeles with her future husband.

The tennis star was seen wearing the diamond jewellery as she held hands with Sasha Vujacic, the LA Lakers basketball player who proposed to her earlier this month.

He is believed to have popped the question at his beach house in California and it is not yet known whether a date has been set for the wedding.

The Daily Mail reports the couple have been dating for almost a year and announced their relationship after being spotted at a US concert in Los Angeles last November.

One tennis player who has been wearing diamond jewellery but will not be heading down the aisle is Anna Kournikova.

The newspaper noted she was wearing a diamond ring on her engagement finger at a book launch in Florida recently, but her and other half Enrique Iglasias currently have no immediate plans to exchange vows.

"I don't think it's the right thing to do. A lot of people think that I'm against marriage, but you can be happy with someone without being married," he was quoted as saying.

The pair, who have been together for eight years, were spotted spending time together on a boat in Florida at the weekend.

One celebrity couple who will soon be tying the knot is Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, after Richie revealed on US television show The View they intend to exchange vows, but have not yet chosen a date.

Fearne Cotton is to head down the aisle after she accepted an engagement ring from her boyfriend Jesse Jenkins.

The Radio 1 DJ agreed to marriage after the US skateboarder proposed to her on her 29th birthday.

They have yet to make an official announcement regarding making their on-off relationship official, but Cotton dropped a hint when she posted a message on Twitter saying: "Having the BEST day full of surprises!!"

A friend was quoted by the Mirror as saying "they know they were meant to be together. Jesse is smitten".

Also rumoured to be getting married is Peaches Geldof, who was recently seen wearing a diamond ring on her wedding finger while eating dinner with her boyfriend, the film director Eli Roth.

The couple were out in London to celebrate their six-month anniversary and the premiere of Roth's new film, however, her spokesperson dismissed the suggestions, insisting they are "100 per cent not engaged".
