Seth Rogen is to marry Lauren Miller, the actress and writer he has been dating since 2004, after she accepted his proposal.

Hollywood star Seth Rogen is to head down the aisle after proposing to his long-time girlfriend with an engagement ring.

The actor, who has appeared in Knocked Up, Superbad and Pineapple Express, proposed to Lauren Miller late last month, according to Life & Style.

They have been together since 2004 and an unnamed individual was quoted by the news source as saying Miller – a writer and actress – was unsure whether Rogen would ask for her hand in marriage.

"She'd started giving up hope that he would ever pop the question," the person remarked, adding: "Her family adores him; everyone is thrilled to plan a wedding."

Rogen, who said in an interview that he has "a girlfriend who is far prettier than I should have", is not the only actor to have got down on one knee recently.

Tom Hardy, who was recently on cinema screens in Inception, is to marry Charlotte Riley, who he met on the set of a television adaptation of Wuthering Heights. 

Guy Ritchie may be about to propose to his girlfriend of six months, it has been suggested.

According to the Sunday Mirror, Madonna's ex is considering proposing to Jacqui Ainsley, who he has been dating for the past six months.

A source told the newspaper it is "only a matter of time" before filmmaker Ritchie, who has directed Snatch, RocknRolla and Sherlock Holmes, gets down on one knee with a wedding ring.

"She's besotted with Guy and wants to marry him. And Guy seems thrilled to have found her," the unnamed individual was quoted as saying.

However, the person also noted Ainsley is "nervous" about announcing an engagement, because she is concerned about how Madonna – who is still friends with Ritchie – will react.

The news comes shortly after it emerged Tom Hardy – who starred in Ritchie's RocknRolla – is to marry Charlotte Riley, the actress he met on the set of a television adaptation of Wuthering Heights.
 

Riley and Hardy have revealed they are to marry, but no date has been set.

Charlotte Riley has confirmed she is getting married to Actor Tom Hardy.

The actress, who met Hardy while the two were working on a television adaptation of Wuthering Heights in 2009, told the Sunday Express magazine they are getting married, but have not yet set a date, Wenn News reports.

She was spotted wearing a diamond ring while walking the red carpet earlier this year, which prompted speculation the two are to tie the knot.

"Yes, we are engaged. We just got on well right from the start, to be honest and had an immediate understanding of each other," Riley was quoted by the newspaper as saying.

As well as starring in Wuthering Heights, Riley has also appeared in The Take and Foyle's War.

Her future husband has appeared in a number of Hollywood films, including Inception, Bronson, RocknRolla and Layer Cake.

Another celebrity soon to be heading down the aisle is Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle, who has been showing of the diamond engagement ring given to her by fiance Jason Bell.
