When 15-year-old
Samantha Rose from Grantham, Lincolnshire wished
to design her own exclusive piece of jewellery Make-A-Wish
sprang into action and arranged for her to spend
a day with leading international jewellery designer
Lorna Watson. Lorna is proud to list some of the
most influential fashion and jewellery brands amongst
her clients. These include De Beers, Christian Dior,
Burberry, Wedgewood, Courreges and Liz Claiborne
as well as exciting emerging brands such as EC One,
Azuni and makeadiamondwish.com.
Samantha, who is living with Cancer,
arrived at Lorna Watson's studio in a stretched
black limousine to undergo her master class in jewellery
design. Her first step was to create a mood board
with images and themes that she particularly liked
and which radiated a strong floral and paisley theme.
A budding artist, Samantha sketched her favourite
themes and adapted them gradually to what she would
like as her special piece of jewellery. Samantha's
designed a stunning silver piece of jewellery with
a floral motif and faceted stone centres to each
of three flowers adjoined by tri-strand chains.
The beautiful silver and faceted stone necklace
that Samantha designed has been custom made by Gemnet

of Make-A-Wish.
